Islam Empire of Faith

This is one of the most wonderful documentary I’ve seen about Islam. Unlike other documentaries that discuss the religion itself, this documentary talks about the influence of Islam on the development of humanity, history and culture.

I’ve always wondered how the life was at that time. I’m a visual person and this movie was a great way for me to visualize what was going on at that time. For some reason, I thought they were all living in tents, but this movie proved me wrong!

I highly recommend watching this movie, it’s totally worth it.

You can watch it:

note: it’s divided into three chapter, seven parts each.

Night Life Photographers

My secret addiction, night life photography. I just can’t help it, I’m so fascinated and amazed of the human being abilities. Drunk and wild people everywhere just waiting for you to take their picture, no matter what your desire is they won’t mind doing it! The best part of all is when you upload the pictures on your computer and find some pictures that you don’t remember taking! I Love it.

One great inspiration is a guy called Nikola, I saw him once in NYC.  I asked if he is posting his pictures on a magazine and he ended up giving me his website, which has a great collection.

I started looking around in the net to find a similar kind of photographer and I ended up having a small collection of websites that shares the same interest. The following is a list of my favorite ones:

Chrijewslam: Wonders

November 21st, 2007

The main reason why I stopped posting lately is that every time I get into the word processor I end up writing about religious topics, which I’m not willing to share since my bases aren’t that strong yet to propose an idea concerning such a critical topic that requires a lot of reading and researching!

However, I found myself this time forced to share my wonders about Islam! I am kind off sick of keeping these thoughts in my head and I figured the only way to get it them out is by sharing them with someone else, here is a list of some thoughts I had lately concerning Islam:

-Why are the religious leaders are trying to be different than the rest of the people, and I mean in the way the dress, talk and live! Why don’t they get more down to earth, which will indeed make the communication between them and regular people easier? I’m specially talking about the younger generation!
-Why is the personalizing of Islam depending on the culture and dressing it to be the truth!
-Most of Muslims speakers lack the basics of giving a speech! You just can’t stand and yell with the loudest you can and except people to listen to you!
-Wouldn’t be better if people starting behaving the way Islam asked them to do than praying five times a day without having any idea about the meaning of the prayers!
-Why did my Islamic education teacher kick me out of class whenever I asked a question that they couldn’t answer?

I have tons of these questions still on my mind that I might share with you when the time is right, but for now I would be more than happy to get any answers for my wonders.
